Ms Yvette Waddell MBA (Chief Operating Officer)

Yvette Waddell is Chief Operating Officer at the Brien Holden Vision Institute. She has been involved with optometric research and education for over fourteen years, which began as Director of Administration for the International Association of Contact Lens Educators(IACLE) in 1993.

Following this, Yvette took up a senior management role at the International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE) as Executive Director. During this time she was involved with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, helping to establish a plan for eliminating preventable blindness throughout the world by the year 2020, as well as creating a strategic plan for ICEE during its formative years.

After taking up a position with the Institute for Eye Research, Ms Waddell was heavily involved in the formation of the Vision CRC in the position of Business Development Manager. As a core participant, the Institute took on a major developmental role during the early phase of the Vision CRC and during this time Yvette made significant contributions to the commercialisation and planning areas of this highly successful venture.

In her current executive management position, Yvette oversees the crucial support services that underpin the Institute’s outstanding scientific and clinical studies outputs. These areas include:  Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Services, Business Development and Communications and Design.

Yvette Waddell has a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales.
