Sunnies for Sight is a fun campaign which aims to increase public awareness around the global impact of uncorrected vision impairment and avoidable blindness. It is a well known fact that healthy eyes and vision are a critical part of a child’s development. Sadly for every child with healthy vision, there are millions in developing communities who are needlessly blind or vision impaired simply because they don't have access to an eye examination and a pair of glasses.
For more than ten years, Sunnies for Sight has generated awareness about the importance of access to eye care worldwide and working towards ensuring every child has the care they need.
This fun initiative encourages children to learn about their vision, eye care and how they can join the fight against these avoidable sight impairments. The idea is to offer communities online resources that can be used in schools to teach children about eyes and the importance of eye care for their whole community.
Learning resources include:
- Lesson plans
- Discussion questions
- Games and activities
