The Institute conducts multidisciplinary research focusing on ocular health and the investigation and development of innovative eye care technologies. The combination of Science, Clinical Research and Technology disciplines gives the institute a unique ability to undertake revolutionary possibilities in eye research.

As a core partner in the Vision CRC, the largest vision correction research centre in the world, the Institute collaborates on research projects with the finest researchers and organisations.

The Institute is affiliated with the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) at the University of New South Wales, with whom it collaborates on several research projects. The Institute’s postgraduate students are enrolled through the SOVS.
