Contact lens scientists to descend on Sydney

Ever wonder how contact lenses can be worn on something as sensitive and vital as our eyes?

The contact lens practitioners and research scientists who make it all possible are descending on Sydney next month to discuss the next big thing in lens designs, share their latest research findings and advise practitioners on how patients can have the most suitable, comfortable and healthy fits.

The 14th International Cornea and Contact Lens Congress will see researchers exploring new possibilities for treatments of conditions such as myopia and presbyopia, as well as less common problems such as aphakia, keratoconosus, keratectasias.

Other topics up for discussion include the latest on polymers used in contact lens materials, bacteria and lenses with antimicrobial surfaces, inflammation and infection and relieving dry eye symptoms.
