The Clinical Research and Trials Centre’s broad range of capabilities ensures that we deliver on clients’ clinical requirements and performance indicators.
The core activity for the Institute over the last 30 years has been focused research, investigating specific issues of product performance, ocular physiological response and product design. We have the capacity, technical expertise and experience to generate effective product-based solutions.
Clinical trials to evaluate product performance may be short, medium or long term. These are conducted to specific study designs to address particular topics of interest. Extensive laboratory facilities and the expertise of the scientific team provide a vital adjunct by enabling in-depth evaluation of the interaction between products and the ocular environment.
An important consideration when developing a new product is how it will compare to others available in the marketplace. Working with the sponsoring organisation, the Institute can develop a series of benchmarking studies to address questions about product performance. We can also provide post-marketing studies. |
