Human Research Ethics Committee (VIHEC)

The primary role of the committee is to assess the ethical suitability of research proposals involving human participants or human tissue. It will ensure that all research is conducted in compliance with the Statement on Consumer and Community Participation in Health and Medical Research 2002; National Statement of Ethical Conduct in Human Research 2007; and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research 2007.

VIHEC Ethics Secretariat

The Ethics Secretariat is an administrative unit processing all applications for ethics approval and enquiries relating to research and teaching involving human subjects or human tissue.
