The Brien Holden Vision Institute has a series of guides and brochures available for practitioner use. These provide information about conditions that can occur with contact lens wear, asssist in determining the severity of eye conditions practitioners may encounter and a practical information brochure practitioners can provide to their patients.

IER Matrix Study PDF Print

The initial IER Matrix Study (released in September 2007) and IER Matrix Study Update (March 2008) investigated the level of solution-induced corneal staining (SICS) that occurred with long-term use of commercially available contact lenses and contact lens solutions. Wearers that experience SICS during contact lens wear have a higher risk of discomfort and infiltrates.

The Institute endorses the Guidelines for the Safe and Use Effective Use of Contact Lenses, developed by leading eye health experts for practitioners, at the Asia Pacific Contact Lens Care Summit in 2007.

Key Steps to Ensuring Contact Lens Safety leaflet PDF Print

The Institute has adapted the recommendations produced by the Asia Pacific Contact Lens Care Summit in 2007 to produce the Brien Holden Vision Institute Key Steps to Ensuring Contact Lens Safety leaflet which provides the key steps for patients to ensure safe contact lens wear.
